Osaka Airport Train

Osaka Kansai International Airport train options are a good way to move around: 

JR Haruka Limited Express Train

The Haruka Train is specially designed for passengers who wish to move to several Kansai destinations such as Tennoji, Shin-Osaka and Kyoto. 

Total trip time to Tennoji is of 30 minutes, to Shin-Osaka Station is 50 minutes and to Kyoto is 1 hour 15 minutes.

Service hours: From 6:30 am to 23:32 pm (From Kansai Airport Station), from 5:45 am to 21:59 pm (to Kansai Airport Station), every 30 minutes. 

Location

You can find JR Haruka trains in the Airport Station located at Aeroplaza. 

Fares

Fares to get from Osaka Kansai Airport to Tennoji is 2,000, to Shin-Osaka Station is 3,000 Yen and to Kyoto is 3,500 Yen. 

Foreign visitors of Osaka Kansai Airport have a discount ticket to use while in the airport to take JR Haruka along with the Icoca prepaid card. 

ICOCA Card

IC Card, in this case ICOCA Card, is used in JR West in Greater Osaka, Okayama and Hiroshima regions, is a prepaid card used to pay fares on public transport and several services such as vending machines, shops and restaurants. 

For foreigners there is the Kansai One Pass. 

You can get the IC card at ticket machines and ticket counters. There is an initial refundable deposit of 500 Yen.

You can buy your ticket at any of the JR Haruka Limited Express Train booth in the Airport Station at Aeroplaza.

JR Rapid Service

Departing from Kansai Airport, this train service connects the airport with Osaka Station and terminus Kyobashi.

You can get to Osaka Station within 73 minutes via Kyobashi by taking Route 1. 

It departs every 20 minutes. 

It is convenient for connections to Kobe and Kyoto. 

Opening hours: From 06:17 am to 21:00 pm.

You can find JR Rapid Service trains in the Airport Station located at Aeroplaza. 

Fares

Basic ticket is 1,190 Yen. 

Where can I buy my ticket?

You purchase it in the ticket booths and machines in the Airport Station.

Rap:t

By “Rap:t”, which stands for a limited express trains, get within 35 minutes from Osaka Kansai Airport to Namba Station. 

This service connects Osaka Kansai Airport to Tennoji Station within 50 minutes and to Osaka Station within 70 minutes. 

There are 2 different routes:

Rapi:t alpha: Total route time, 34 minutes. Stops: Kansai Airport – Rinku Town – Izumisano – Tengachaya – Shin-Imamiya – Namba

Rapi:t beta: Total route time, 37 minutes. Stops: Kansai Airport – Rinku Town – Izumisano – Kishiwada – Sakai – Tengachaya – Shin-Imamiya – Namba

You can board Rapi:t trains in the Airport Station located at Aeroplaza. 

Fares

Take this train from 1,060 Yen (Tennoji Station) and 1,190 Yen (Osaka Station).

Nankai Rapid Service

Get from Kansai Airport to Namba Station in Osaka city. It will take you 42 minutes. 

Unlike other rail lines it stops more often and can get easily overcrowded. 

Location

You can board Nankai Rapid Service trains in the Airport Station located at Aeroplaza. 

Fares

Take this train from 890 Yen. It is the cheapest option regarding rail options.

For this train, you can use multi-day Kansai rail pass. You can buy it at the information desk at the airport.
